| Frequently Asked Questions What is The Songwriters Agent? SWA
is a contest that has networked with publishers, labels, musicians, producers,
managers, and others in the music industry in search for new talent. SWA
understands the many difficulties that musicians,
songwriters, and lyricist deal with while trying to establish themselves in
their respective field. The SWA has been established to assist
"up-coming" talent while maintaining a passionate belief in three
primary objectives: 1- Encouraging the art and discipline
of songwriting 2- Networking talented songwriters
with industry leaders 3- Offering guidance to songwriters
through critiques and reviews Can
I submit more than one song? Yes. You can submit as many songs as
you would like. Each song you submit requires an additional entry fee. The same
song submitted into two categories will require a fee for each category. How
much is the entry fee? All songs you submit has a $25 entry
fee. Can
I receive a critique on my song? SWA will provide you with a detailed critique of your song. Professionals in the
music industry who have a deep understanding of song writing will review your

structure, melody, etc..... There is a small $10.00 fee to get your music

offers more opportunities than any other song contest. Some contests offer the
winners an opportunity to be on a compilation CD containing 8-10 songs at the
end of the year. SWA sends out
songs throughout the year to record labels, publishers, and others in the music
industry that are looking for new talent.. The ultimate goal for most songwriters is to establish a long-term
career in music. It is this very reason that SWA
has networked with individuals in the music industry. Do I lose my copyright by submitting songs to SWA? Absolutely not. The copyright will
remain yours. Neither SWA nor
any of its affiliates will own your copyright. It is not necessary to have a
registered copyright to submit to SWA. If your song is selected, we will be
sending out your material to many music professionals. At this point it is
strongly recommended that you register the work with the Copyright Office. We
will contact you if you selected before we send the material out
so you will have time to get the copyright registered. My song was selected will I get signed on a major label or get a publishing deal? Unfortunately we can not guarantee
that you will get signed or get a publishing deal, however we will be submitting
your songs to the people who can make that happen. Signing you will be their
final decision.
What
if I have a poor recording of my song? No problem. We will be
acknowledging the songwriting not the production. The SWA's goals are to find
good songwriters and good songs, not good producers. What
file format does the CD have to be in if I send it in the mail? You can use the standard CD audio format for the CD. We also accept CD's with mp3, wma, wav, and real audio files on them. Emailing MP3s are welcome. Email all files to qpmedianow@aol.com4dd4fd
